An incredible culture starts with incredible people

Experiences inspire, inspiration drives innovation, and innovation builds great businesses that make a difference in the world.

Why Are You Here

Chances are you currently work for a startup and want to gain insight on cultivating the company culture of your dreams, or you are a job seeker ready to make the leap into the startup world. If you are the latter, your prospective company’s culture should be at the forefront of your decision to join their team. If you are the former, you should follow along too.

Now, what does it really mean when people talk about “company culture”, and how can one company’s culture really be unique to all the others out there?

The Proof is in the Pudding

Just read a few articles on the culture at Uber- you will quickly realize how important culture is and how a toxic culture can not only lead to losing great talent, but also result in huge profit losses ($2.8 Billion in Uber’s case). Setting the stage early for your company’s culture will make the difference between being an Uber culture or an Airbnb culture.

If You Build it They Will Come

Culture is much deeper than the happy hours, team offsites, and an endless supply of beef jerky. It’s not just the perks, it’s much more intentional than that. It is the mission, purpose, values, and people who make up a company’s culture. This begs the question, how does Photomadic’s culture set us apart from the rest?

We believe it’s the way we run our business and the nature of the people who work for us that sets us apart. Photomadic is made up of a team of individuals who are not only talented but are inspiring, passionate, kind, driven, hardworking and unique. They are what we call incredible people.

We believe that when you build a company of incredible people, you have to worry a lot less about corporate processes.

We can trust that people are doing the right thing. They are motivated and have self-disciplined, entrepreneurial spirits. A fun work environment with happy hours, bowling, and kayaking excursions are the byproduct of this type of culture.

Our Passion is Our Focus

We value experiences. They are our passion, and it runs deep into our culture. We’ve been known to work from campsites in Yosemite or take off on a sunny Friday to bike a loop. We believe that if we keep experiences at the heart of what we do, and we leverage technology and visual media to help brands be successful in their marketing efforts, we will be able to revolutionize the way brands connect with people through experiences.

Passion doesn’t begin and end with work though. We do everything that we can to support our team’s passions outside of the office. Whether it’s rock climbing, blogging, cooking, traveling – we believe that it’s impossible to do a good job, if your job is all you do. This is one of the reasons that we now give our employees unlimited vacation. We encourage them to take time off to live out their passions so that they can come back to work inspired and encouraged.

Haven’t Heard Enough

There are so many great companies doing culturally innovative things today — we know there’s no shortage of workplace creativity, revolutionary employee experiences, and bold engagement ideas. We aim to be on the forefront of this revolution. Take a look at our Culture Book to see more about how our company culture makes the difference.
